Francis J. Klepek, 78 of Carmel, passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2012. He was born on January 23, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Frank and Sophie Klepek. A graduate of Case Institute of Technology Frank began his career with Union Carbide where he was employed until his retirement in 1990. He was a longtime member of St. Christopher Catholic Church where he served on the Parish Council and the Finance Committee. Frank loved sports and was a former member of the Country Club of Indianapolis and he was an avid golfer, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years Mary Jane (Zaback) Klepek; daughter Jane (Paul) LaMay; grandchildren Emily and Ben LaMay; sisters Alice Wiley and Carol (Bill) Gilroy; sister in law Mary Klepek; brother in laws Jack (Sue) Zaback and Jerry (Pat) Zaback and nineteen nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Ben Klepek and brother in law Dutch Wiley. Friends may call on Monday June 18th at Flanner and Buchanan Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd. W. Dr. Indianapolis from 4 to 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday June 19th at St. Christopher Catholic Church 5301 West 16th St Speedway at 11 AM. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Ashtabula, Ohio. In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to St. Christopher Catholic Church or the IU Simon Cancer Center, Lymphoma Research Program.
