Frances Searles

Frances Jeanne Arnott Searles, age 88, a Zionsville resident since 1956, died June 22, 2011 at Metamora, IL. She was born January 29, 1923 in Indianapolis to the late Edward E. and Eleanor E. Merritt Arnott. She graduated from Shortridge High School in 1941 and married Frank H. Searles December 9, 1944. He preceded her in death. Jeanne was employed at Calumet Asphalt Paving Company for 13 years and at Stackhouse Building Specialties for 8 years. She was a founding member of the Azionaqua Swim Club, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #79, the Smyrna Shrine Guild, and the Bes Shrine Guild. Surviving are son Dennis M. Searles of East Peoria, IL, daughter Terry D. Hopf of West Lafayette, IN, 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Donald Arnott. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, or the Alzheimer’s Association. The funeral service will be held Saturday June 25th 10 am in the Flanner and Buchanan Zionsville Funeral Center. Visitation will be there Friday June 24th from 6 to 8 pm and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday.
