Frances Rosalie Ramey

Frances Rosalie Ramey 88, passed away on December 2, 2015. She was born to Mabel and Stanley Bennett on December 7, 1926 in West Baden Indiana. In October 1953 she married James Walton Ramey and moved to Indianapolis IN.
Proceeding Frances in death were her parents; husband, James; sisters, Thelma Merry, Helen Bennett and Lois Padgett; along with sister-in-law, Monica Bennett.
Surviving Frances are her children; Brenda (David) Brown, Debra (Mike) Smith, and Brian (Marjorie) Ramey. In addition Frances is survived by a sister, Vera (Hyscel) Ward and brothers Wilbur (Deeann) Bennett and Morris Bennett along with brothers-in-law; Kenneth Merry and Billy Padgett.
Frances is survived by grandchildren; Eric, Michelle, Melanie, Jason, Justin, Courtney and Scott. In addition, she is survived by 8 great-children. Frances was looking forward to another great-grandchild due to be born.
Frances spent many years babysitting grandchildren and others while their parents worked. Her last job before retirement was working as an aide to the elderly; helping them with shopping, meals and housekeeping. Frances herself was assisted by many healthcare workers so that she could spend time in her home during her most recent years.
Frances attended Mount Pleasant Baptist in recent years. Even though she was no longer able to cook, she mainly watched the cooking shows on TV. Frances enjoyed the Christmas season and her birthday being in December. However her main enjoyment was time she spent with family.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00pm Friday, December 4, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Ave, Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held there on Saturday at 12pm, with visitation beginning at 10:30. Burial will follow in Mitchell IN after the service.
They are not dead who live in lives they leave behind. In those whom they have blessed, they live a life again. ~ Hugh Robert Orr
