Frances Elizabeth O'Neill

Frances Elizabeth O'Neill Born in Chicago, Illinois on February 27, 1924 to Karl and Elizabeth Marx, she spent her early years in Chicago and then graduated from Steinmetz High School. She received further training at Wright Jr. College and Northwestern University. Fran worked for the Chicago Title and Trust Company from 1941 until 1949. She married Dr. Gerald H. O'Neill and they moved to Plainfield, Indiana where Dr. O'Neill practiced optometry for 34 years. Fran then worked for Butler University College of Pharmacy from 1976 until 1991, at which time she retired. Fran's joyous personality and love of her family will always be remembered by all those who knew and loved her. She was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, Lady Elks, American Legion and VFW auxiliaries. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Gerald H. O'Neill; daughter, Kathy Walden and her husband Terry; daughter, Maureen Potucek and her husband Charles; son, Michael H. O'Neill; grandsons, Matt Walden, Ryan Walden, Kurt Walden, John Walden, Michael Potucek, Mark Potucek; and great-grandson, Riley Walden. Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Washington Park North will hold the services at which time she will be entombed in the Washington Park North Cemetery. Services will be private for the family only and there will be no calling. Any donations should go to the Salvation Army, Light House Mission, or your favorite charity.
