Foai Maletino Unutoa, 69, of Fortville, Indiana, passed away on April 6, 2026. Foai was born on January 20, 1957, to Maletino and Inosia Setefano.

Foai lived a life rooted deeply in faith, love, and hospitality. Her relationship with God was the center of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to share about God’s goodness with those around her. Foai had a remarkable gift for welcoming others – she truly never met a stranger. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter and connection. Above all, Foai was devoted to her family. She was a loving and faithful wife to her husband, Franklin, and her greatest joy was found in her children and grandchildren, whom she loved more than anything in the world. Foai’s natural beauty and smile lit up any room she walked in. Her legacy of faith and kindness will live on in all who knew her.

Foai is survived by her loving husband Franklin Unutoa and children Mele Unutoa Byrd (Michael), Maletino Unutoa, Waunita Unutoa, Val Unutoa, Inosia Unutoa Jones (Kyle) and Fagamanu Ifopo (Emmaly); grandchildren, Aaron Byrd, Lillian Unutoa Jones, Aria Byrd, Abram Byrd, Birdie Ifopo, Britney Ifopo, Bryleigh Ifopo.

A family and friends service for Foai will take place on Friday, May 1st, 2026, from 5 to 9pm at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Home, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229. Her celebration of life will occur Saturday, May 2nd, 2026. From 10 to 11am will be a short viewing then followed by a funeral service from 11am to 2pm concluding with an honorable appreciation.
