Florence R. Buckhorn, 89, Brownsburg, passed away March 3, 2014. She was born August 26, 1924, in New York City, NY, the daughter of the late John J. and Elsie R. (Herbert) Sullivan. She married Harold W. Buckhorn, and he preceded her in passing August 19, 1998.
Florence retired in 1989 from Winona Memorial Hospital. She worked for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra as an usher from 1990 until 2010. She also served as an usher at Clowes Hall for 10 years. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and St. Malachy Catholic Church.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Leslie Buckhorn and Mark Buckhorn; two great grandsons, Kevin Buckhorn-Miller and Braycen Buckhorn; three nieces, Janet Johnston, Nancy McKinney, and Patricia Mitchell; two nephews, Dan Johnston and Robert Aita; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by a son, Kent J. Buckhorn and two sisters, Muriel Johnston and Marge Aita.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at Flanner and Buchanan – Broad Ripple, 1305 East Broad Ripple Avenue. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Little Sisters of the Poor, 2345 West 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
