Flora Key Adams
94 of the Franklin United Methodist Home passed away June 15 surrounded by love. She was born and raised in Alabama on a farm. She loved school and reading. She was a spelling bee champion. The oldest of 4 siblings. She moved to Indianapolis with husband Thomas Key whom preceded her in death in 1965, Mother to 3 daughters, Deborah (Keith) McCoy, Betty Klingler and Shirley Hale. Grandmother to 6, great grandmother to 10 and great great grandmother to 3. Husband of 20 years Walter Adams preceded her in death in 2000. Her entire life was devoted to her family. Her 3 daughters were her greatest joy. She loved flowers and birds, She loved to sing and laugh. She wrote and said the following at the close of weekly bible study, “As we go out of this day, God go with us till we meet again”. She was adored and loved unmeasurably. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 18th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center – Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral center. Entombment, Washington Park East Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Franklin United Methodist Home.
