Finn Kyrillo Sallmen, 18, was born Kyrylo Andriyovych Halatenko in Kyiv, Ukraine, on March 20th, 2006, and passed away on May 9, 2024, in Greenville, Ohio.
Finn is survived by his mother, Stacy Bergman, his two sisters, Mia and Zoe Sallmen, and his father, Bradley Sallmen, all of Lewis Center, Ohio; he is also survived by Aunts and Uncles: Denny Bergman (Yorkshire, Oh), Dianne and Jim Pleiman (Ft. Loramie, Oh), Shelley and Peter This (New Bremen, Oh), Pam Bergman (Minster, Oh), Jenny Bergman (Columbus, Oh), Jeff and Catharine Sallmen (Pensacola, Fl), and his many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alfred and Kathleen Bergman, his paternal grandparents, Wayne and Maxine Sallmen, and his maternal Aunts Jill Bergman and Judy Bergman.
Finn had energy beyond understanding. As a younger child, he was known on the playground in Ukraine as Spider-Man. When Finn came to the United States in 2014, his energy never ceased. He never sat still for long, especially with his loving and kind teachers through elementary and middle school.
Finn was an amazing runner, artist, and video game connoisseur; he loved music and was incredibly intelligent - his family would call him Fun Fact Finn - you never knew what would come out of his mouth!
Finn was quite the foodie and loved to try different foods and chose the most expensive thing from the menu every time - steak, seafood, ramen, and sushi were his favorites. Food was Finn’s love language, from the most expensive to leftovers to whatever he could create or concoct in the kitchen.
Finn made those around him laugh, scratch their heads, and want to pull their hair out - many times in concert. He tried every possible way to annoy his sisters. Yet, he had a charming way about him; Finn was a really good hugger, sweet, compassionate, kind, and empathetic to other people’s needs.
Finn was very loved and will be deeply missed.
