Fani (Karnezis) Pappas 88 of Indianapolis died October 28, 2013. Fani was born on September 20, 1925 in Silimna Tripolos, Greece to Christos and Anthoula (Poulopoulos) Karnezis. Fani was preceded in death by her husband Jim A. Pappas, her siblings Antonio and George Karnezis and her sister Helen Sanida. Fani along with her husband Jim Pappas owned and operated Pappas Dry Cleaners and Papas Pancake House in Indianapolis. Calling will be held on Wednesday October 30, 2013 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 3500 West 106th Street Carmel, IN 46032 from 4 pm to 7 pm with a Trisagion Service at 7 pm. Additional calling will be held on Thursday October 31, 2013 beginning at 10 am followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 11 am. Fani is survived by her daughters Maria Pappas and Angela (George) Bayetakos, her sisters Evagelia Zaferakos, Georgia Mantis and Eleftheria Papoulias and her brother Evagelos Karnezis, brother-in-law Reverend Angelo (Maria) Pappas, two sister-in-laws Venetia and Eugenia and three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews of which live in Australia, Greece and here in the USA. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery Fishers, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
