Exton Robert Cordingley, 41, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on June 5, 2024. He was born on July 22, 1982, in Indianapolis.
Exton received his Bachelor’s degree from IU Bloomington, and went on to receive his Juris Doctor from IU Indianapolis. He practiced law in Indiana, and was committed to supporting those in need.
Exton served as a Captain in the US Army and held the role of Judge Advocate from 2009 to 2018. Throughout this duration, he demonstrated unwavering commitment to the soldiers he represented, providing support during assessments by the Army’s Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) and the Army’s Physical Evaluation Board (PEB). Exton also advocated for veterans before the Department of Veteran Affairs.
He enjoyed staying informed about politics and government affairs. His family and friends were the greatest joys in his life.
Exton is survived by his father and step-mother, Bruce and Denise Cordingley; sisters, Desiree (Cory) Davis and Alison (Jim) Birge; nieces and nephews, Alessandra, Rex, Kothe, and Maxine; and beloved dog, Retta.
Exton is preceded in passing by his mother, Antoinette Cordingley.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 15, from 10 am to 12 pm, at Flanner Buchanan – Broad Ripple, 1305 E. Broad Ripple Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46220. There will be a private burial for Exton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Exton’s name may be made out to The Wounded Warrior Project or to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
