Evelyn T. Schnitker

Evelyn T.Schnitker, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.Evelyn was born on June 25, 1920 in Mackville, KY, the daughter of the Raymond and Mae (Henry) Turner. She married Norman Schnitker on July 25, 1981.

Evelyn retired from Eli Lilly after 31 years of service. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church where she frequently volunteered. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking recipes from her collection of over 300 cookbooks.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Schnitker; daughter, Ramona (John) Savage; two grandchildren, Jessica Savage and John Savage Jr.; her sister-in-law, Helen Schueler; and cousins, Donnie and George Matherly. She was preceded in passing by her siblings,Lula Lee Schnitker and James Turner; and her brother-in-law, Melvin Schueler.

Visitation will be held at Flanner and Buchanan – Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Drive, on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86^th Street, on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 11:00 am.
