Evelyn Mae Adams Lindquist was born on April 13, 1924 in Fair Haven, Vermont to John Tracy Adams and Bertha Mae Gardner. She met the love of her life, John Theodore Lindquist, when they were both students at Tufts University during World War II. Evelyn married John on August 19, 1944 in Bennington, Vermont and moved with him to Indianapolis where she graduated from Butler University. She was a member of Alpha Omega Pi sorority. She remained active in her sorority and Pan Hellinic activities and served as its president. Evelyn was a volunteer for many years for the Little Red Door Cancer Agency in Indianapolis. She began as a volunteer delivering bandages to breast cancer patients and served as an officer and a member of its board of directors. Twice Evelyn was awarded the distinguished service award for the Little Red Door. Evelyn served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Orthodontic Supply Corporation and Research Inc. for many years and assisted her husband in his activities as President of the American Association of Orthodontists.
She is survived by her husband, John, her daughter, Bonnie Roddenberry (Stephen) of Miami, Florida, her son, John II (Veronika) of London, England, seven grandchildren, Thomas (Yana), David and Samuel Roddenberry, John III, Paul and James Lindquist and Julia Ritchie (Nick) and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 am, Saturday, July 1 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road. Arrangements were entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel.
