Evelyn Mae Carlisle,

74, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017. She was born January 2, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Charles and Lucille L. Hayes.

Evelyn was an avid Elvis fan. She enjoyed spending time watching red birds and squirrels outside of her window. Most of all, she loved being a homemaker; baking, decorating Christmas cookies and treats, and spending time with her family. Evelyn was also proud to work at School 28 as a custodian.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Hayes; husband, Phillip Carlisle; great grandchildren, little James Lee and Scarlett Rose; and sister-in-law, Janice Hayes. She is survived by her children, Tina Vannortwick (Dan), Tim Mourning (Chris Bryant), Tammie Orff (Rick), and James Alte; brother, James Hayes; 17 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 11am-1pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 North Holt Road, Indianapolis. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1pm.
