Eugene Lucero was born May 24, 1934 in Augusta, Montana and passed away on October 23, 2011 in Carmel, Indiana. He grew up in Great Falls, Montana and attended the University of Great Falls. Shortly after receiving his degree he spent 2 years in the US army, a portion of that time in Korea. Upon returning to Montana he married Miriam Ehresmann and taught school in Fairfield. In 1963 he moved to California and lived 38 years in Milpitas where he worked as a teacher and counselor for the Milpitas Unified School District retiring in 1993. He moved to Auburn in 2011 where he enjoyed life in the foothills. His God, family, friends, and former students were very important to him. He took great pride when he learned of former students accomplishments.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Miriam, daughter Janeen Pugh (Bob) of Carmel, Indiana and son David of Union City, CA. Grandsons, William and Robert, the joy of his life; sisters Laura, Lorraine and Shirley, brothers George and Sam, and many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Flora Lucero, sisters Lucy, Rita and Rosemary and brothers Walter, Lawrence and Clarence.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, November 12 at 1 p.m. at Auburn Grace Community Church, 3126 Olympic Way, Auburn, CA.
