Eugene 'Gene' Parenzan

Gene A. Parenzan (62) passed away on August 4, 2011, after an extended illness. Surviving are wife, Teri Hart-Parenzan, Carmel, IN; Parents, Pauline and Charlie Rich, Elysburg, PA; Sons Richard A. Parenzan (Elizabeth) of Trumbull, CT, and Kyle C. Parenzan of Suffern, NY; daughters Angela Standifer (Steve) of Carmel, In.; and Natalie Karl (Mike) of Fort Wayne, In. and 9 grandchildren: Courtney and Zachary Parenzan, Trumbull, CT; Kathleen Hart (Fruchey), Corbin Fruchey, Lauren Standifer, Harlea Standifer, Carmel, IN; Casey Richhart , Travis Karl, Fort Wayne, IN, and Kayla Branning, New Haven, IN; Sister Linda Grotke, Nevada City , CA; and Brother, Michael Parenzan, Atlanta, GA. Gene attended college at Miami University in Florida and PACE University in New York. He spent 40 years working in Import/Export management. Gene enjoyed family trips to Ocean City, MD or anyplace with a beach. He loved fishing, crabbing and clamming, cooking, auto racing, tinkering with cars, solving puzzles, and endlessly teasing his grandchildren. He and wife, Teri, were married for 26 wonderful years. In honor of Gene, there will be a CELEBRATION OF LIFE at the Flanner and Buchanan funeral home in Carmel, IN. on August 13, 2011 from 1 – 4 p.m. In order to celebrate Gene's love of the beach - guests are requested to wear their favorite “Hawaiian” attire. We suggest slacks (for gents) or skirts (for ladies) and your favorite "Hawaiian" or tropical shirt. No shorts, bikinis, speedos or “funeral” attire, PLEASE! This is an Open House. Snacks and beverages will be served. Please bring your favorite story about Gene and leave your stage fright at home. We want to share all of the good stories, laughs and memories with our friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gene’s name can be made to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.
