Eugene Degraw

June 21, 1942 — January 16, 2016

At the conclusion of a most interesting life, lasting 73 years, marks the beginning of Eugene DeGraw’s final journey. It is with great sadness we announce Eugene's passing on January 16, 2016, at his home in Indianapolis, IN with his family by his side.

Eugene was born in Freehold, NJ. He was the son of Matthew and Florence DeGraw.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Myrna Wright, Kathy Williams and Arlene Miller.

Eugene is survived by his dedicated and loving wife, Pamela (Esselborn) DeGraw; a son, Eugene Venable; two brothers Frank and John DeGraw, and a sister Doris Whalen; three grandchildren, Andrew Brown, Gary Brown & Michele Mohney and four great-grandchildren.

Eugene graduated from Richmond Senior High School in Richmond, IN in 1961. He worked for the Sunshine Biscuit Company in sales for many years. He was a very dedicated and disciplined individual and believed in hard work. He had talent beyond belief. He was an electrician, Plumber, carpenter and builder. He had a huge interest in the Antique world. He loved the 1920/1930 era of antique toys and learned how to restore them. He became one of the best in the nation in his field. He was on a sky diving team and jumped over 250 times. He was a scuba diver instructor, and he loved to teach dance.
He loved to cruise and loved being with his friends and family.

Services will be held at Flanner & Buchanan – Geist, 7855 Cork Road, Indianapolis, IN on January 23, at 1:00 p.m.
