Eugene P. Bone

Gene passed on April 4, 2026, at the age of 90. 

Gene Bone was born the son of Bert and Regina Bone, in Portland, Indiana, on October 20, 1935. Gene graduated from Portland High School in 1953. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps and did 6 years of service in aviation. Gene worked for the Teamsters Union for several years. He retired from Mary Manor Nursing Homes as Vice President of Human Resources after 30 years with them. Gene was a graduate of Ball State University. He was a very talented musician. His instrument of choice was the piano. He loved sports, his favorite teams were the Raiders (NFL) and the Pirates (MLB). 

Gene is survived by his Wife, Sandra Bone. His children, David Bone, Karen Bone, Michael Bone, Aaron Bone, Kendra Anderson, Danny Thieme, Randy Thieme, and Dawn Gossett. He has 21 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
