Ethel Elginia Jackson, known affectionately by all as Elginia, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026. She was 81 years old. Born on October 18, 1944, in the quiet town of Lookout, West Virginia, Elginia was the daughter of the late Paul and Zelma Richmond. Her journey from the hills of West Virginia to the heart of her family in Indiana was marked by her devotion to those she loved and a spirit of generosity that defined her life.
Along with her parents, Elginia was reunited in death with her beloved husband, Jerry Jackson; her brothers, Darrell and Claude Richmond; and her sister, Loretta Shoup.
Her legacy of love and family continues through her sisters, Ulaine Thompson, Jane Moore, and Joyce Zirk. She is also survived by her four children, who were her greatest pride: Larry Wyatt (Wanda), Kevin Wyatt (Alicia), Michele Luzetski (Russell), and Sam Jackson (Emily).
Elginia’s joy was multiplied by her grandchildren, who will miss her dearly: Stacy, Sandy, Gwynne, Rowan, Cohen, Callia, Crosby, and Camilla.
Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Elginia’s life with a 2-3pm gathering on Sunday, March 1, 2026, followed by a service at 3pm, all to take place at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, located at 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to one of the two organizations very close to Elginia’s heart: Riley Children’s Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Elginia was a supporter of the life-saving work done for children in Indiana. For online donations: Donate in Memory of Elginia Jackson (Select "In Memory of" during checkout). click here for donation site
