Ethel E. Edwards, 94, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010. Ethel was born in Rising Sun, Indiana on July 1, 1916 to parents William and Mary Hoeferkamp. In her hometown, Ethel was a member of the Rising Sun Evangelical Reform Church before moving to Indianapolis.
Ethel was a faithful and longtime member of St. Peter United church of Christ, where she once taught Sunday school, where one of her former pupils was David Letterman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Oliver Edwards, sister Goldie Trumbo, and daughter-in-law Elizabeth (Wolfe) Edwards. Ethel leaves behind to cherish her memories sons Floyd William (Jan) and Norman A. Edwards, grandchildren Steven (Shelly Busby), Brad (Kim) and Brent (Debbie) Edwards, Molly Lawson and Shawnna (John) Bizeau, great-grandchildren Brady, Brett, and Ally Edwards and Gavin and Brock Bizeau, brother Edwin Hoeferkamp, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Calling for Mrs. Edwards will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at St. Peter United Church of Christ 3106 E. Carmel Drive Carmel, IN from 11am-1pm with services to begin at 1pm at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Washington Park North are assisting with arrangements.
