Pastor Esther Marie Littrell Wilson 58, Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Griffith, IN, died Friday, March 11, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Born July 1, 1952, in Frankfort, IN to Pastor Wilburt Morris and Violet Grant Littrell. Esther earned a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from University of Indianapolis, a Masters in Music Education from Butler University, a Masters in Sacred Music and a Masters in Divinity at Christian Theological Seminary. Esther was serving as Pastor at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, and had previously served at Corydon UMC, Castleton UMC, and St. Luke's UMC. She served as chair of the Diaconal Board of the former South Indiana Conference for many years and served on various conference boards and committees. Survivors include her husband of 37 years, William Foster Wilson; her daughter, Rachel Marie Wilson; sisters, Martha (George) Moore of Indianapolis and Mary (Dale) Bales of Anderson; nephews, Jason (Tammy) Moore of Minneapolis, Brian (Lyndsey) Moore of Chicago, Chris (Donna) Wilson of Greenfield, Mike (Amanda) Wilson of Kendallville, and Peter (Stephanie) Bales of Nashville, TN; and nieces, Jenny (James) Handshoe of Fishers, and Emily (Dan) Pyle of Bloomington IN, and countless friends. Visitation will be 2-8 pm, Friday, March 25th at Flanner and Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center, and from 10-11 am Saturday, March 26th at St. Luke's UMC. A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, at 11 am in St. Luke's UMC, 100 W. 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46260, and burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery.
