Estella D. Howard 90, of Indianapolis died January 1, 2014.
Estella worked at Sam's Subway as a waitress for several years, while attending school at Butler University to obtain a master's degree. Later, she was employed by IPS to teach first grade at school # 5. Estella taught Home Economics., at schools #44, #61, Arlington High School, and Crispus Attucks Middle school. She served as consultant for Junior High Home Economics teachers for 12 years. She was a member of Allen Chapel A.M.E Church, Richard Allen Guild, Subway Supremes, and a life member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Tau Chapter, Inc.
Survivors include Aunt, Naomi Demps of Detroit, MI, special nieces, Marion Hervey of Ferndale, MI and Elaine Stockton of Los Angeles, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, God daughter, God son and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday January 7, 2014 from 11am-12 pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive Indianapolis, Indiana 46228. Funeral service will follow at noon.
