Estal E. Stinson

Estal E. Stinson, 89, Avon passed away May 3, 2015. He was born Feb. 4, 1926 in Scottsville, KY to Everett and Bessie (Burtrum) Stinson. Estal had worked for Allisons as an Inspector retiring in 1988. He served honorably in the U.S. Army 86th Infantry and was at the invasion at Normandy serving in the European and Pacific theaters. Estal was a member of Masonic Lodge 669 and Hope Baptist Church. He and his family enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling. Estal is survived by his wife of 68 years, Zella (New) Stinson; children, Sherri (Bobby) Nokes, Larry (Nancy) Stinson and David (Barbara) Stinson; a sister, Barbara (Dick) Goad; 13 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents; siblings, Vestal and Garvice Stinson and Naomi Ison. Services will be 11 am Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd.
