Ernest D. Jackson, age 81 of Indianapolis, died January 7, 2011.
Ernest was born March 5, 1929 to the late Robert and Marguerite Jackson in Schenectady, New York.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was the owner of Buster Brown Children’s Shoes in Indianapolis until his retirement in 1989.
Ernest was a long-time member of the Murat Shrine, Trinity Episcopal Church, and SCORE a counseling organization for small businesses.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret (Wills) Jackson; children, Jeannette Shepherd, Suzanne (Ritchie) Crago, and Scott (Vickie) Jackson; 5 grandchildren, Jenna McGinnis, Michael McMahon, Jeffrey Crago, Sarah McMahon, and Chelsea Crago; and 3 great-grandchildren, Donavin McMahon, Cori McMahon, and Megan McGinnis.
Visitation hours are 11am to 1pm. Funeral Services will follow at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center – Broad Ripple, where friends may call two hours prior to the time of services. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
