Erling Carroll Albin

April 1, 1931 — September 18, 2016

Erling Carroll Albin, 85, Carmel, formerly of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, passed away September 18, 2016. He was born April 1, 1931, Hanley Falls, Minnesota, the son of the late Carl and Ellen (Olson) Albin. He married Pearl Goulson, who preceded him in passing on September 30, 2003, after 46 years of marriage.

Erling was a 1949 graduate of Clarkfield High School. He proudly served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He retired from farming in the early 1990’s. He was a member of Rural Youth, where he enjoyed square dancing, and the American Legion. He was Treasurer for Normania Township for over 50 years. He was President of the Resident Council at Summer Trace, where he enjoyed welcoming new residents and showing them around, delivering packages, and being in charge of bingo and movie night. He loved spending time with his granddaughter.

He is survived by his daughter, Elaine (Randy) Craig; and granddaughter, Whitney Craig. He was preceded in passing by a brother Kerman Albin.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. There will be another visitation from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2016 at Hazel Run Lutheran Church in Hazel Run, Minnesota. The Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with burial at Hazel Run Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warriors.
