Erline "Lucy" Sutton, of Indianapolis, died December 14, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 80.
Lucy retired from Western Electric after 32 years of service. After retiring she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to cook and was an excellent housewife and mother. She never met a stranger and was called "mamaw" by all the children in the neighborhood. Lucy will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 55 years Ralph "Gene" Sutton; daughters Kimberly (Adam) Stinson, Elizabeth Kingery, and Chris Newton-Massey; grandchildren Allen (Andrea) Smith, Deanna (Andy) Ellis, Michael (Ayla) Stinson, Stacie, Alexis , Ashley and Tiffiny Kingery, Brian Marshall and Christina Cassidy; great-grandchildren Briley Ellis and Lillian Stinson; and special friends Robert Heady, Jean Edan, and Richard and Phyllis Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Ovia Bates; sisters Reba and Mary; and brothers Roy, James and John.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 18 from 4 to 8 PM at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, December 19 at Flanner and Buchanan. Entombment will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.
