Era 'Roxie' Wheat

Era "Roxie" Wheat, 73 of Indianapolis, IN passed away January 30, 2015. She worked for the State of Indiana for the Alcoholic Beverage Commission for over 15 years. She is survived by her children, Michael (Rose) Wheat, Cynthia (Joe) Cothran, Steven (Samantha) Wheat, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and sisters, Dolly Hunter and Beatrice Lents. She is preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Wheat, son, David Wheat, granddaughter, Catherine Elizabeth Wheat, parents, Roscoe and Ella Melton and brothers, James T. Blakely and William and Russell Melton. Services will be Thursday, February 5, 2015 11 AM at Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur Twp. with visitation there Wednesday, February 4th 2-8 PM. She will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wesleyan Holiness Church 5102 Minnesota St. Indianapolis, IN 46241.
