Emma Lue (Starnes) Smith 82 of Martinsville, IN formerly Indianapolis died on October 05, 2016 Emma was born on April 23, 1934 in Luxora, AR to Lonnie Clyde and Myrtle (Powell) Starnes. Emma was a former member of Lakeview Church. Emma worked as a School Teacher and a Librarian and was a housewife. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Eugene “Gene” Smith Sr., her son Norman Eugene Smith Jr. a former Air Force veteran, daughter Martha Jean Gibbons, her siblings Thomas and Billy Starnes and Betty Cook and Shirley Mahaney. Calling will be held on October 15th, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive Indianapolis, IN 46228 from 11 am to 2 pm followed by a Celebration of Emma’s life beginning at 2 pm. Emma is survived by her son Richard Alan (Anita) Smith four grandsons; Nicholas Smith a former Marine, Justin Smith, Kyle Smith and Brian Gibbons and her two great grandchildren Mekenzie and Quinn Gibbons her siblings; Lonnie, Deltus, James, Harold Starnes and Carol Scanland and Nellie Mullens.
