Mrs. Jane Taylor, age 94, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 17, 2016 in her residence at Prairie Lakes of Noblesville from complications of congestive heart failure.
Born October 4, 1921, in Winfield, Kansas, Jane was the daughter of Frank P. Hudson & Sarah F. Gallap; sister to Ernest, Addison and Don Hudson. She graduated from Southwestern College in 1943 with her Bachelor’s degree in Music.
On June 12, 1943 Jane was married to Dr. Harold L. Taylor at Grace Episcopal Church in Winfield, Kansas. Shortly after their wedding they moved to Boston while Dr. Taylor worked as an aide in research at Harvard Medical School. Following Boston, they moved to Lansing Michigan. They became the parents of John Kenton Taylor on June 19, 1947. The family moved to Indianapolis in 1956.
Mrs. Taylor was a long time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She served as part of the church’s Altar Guild and was a former Directress. She was honored as Church Woman of the Year in 1980.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her granddaughter, Michele Taylor, as well as several nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband Harold and son “Kent”.
Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 1:30pm,
followed by a reception where friends may greet the family. Memorial contributions may be made to
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 6050 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, 46208. Inurnment will be at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church columbarium. Arrangements are being handled by Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple. Condolence may be made to the family online by visiting www.flannerbuchanan.com
