Emily Jean (Painter) Landis, age 86 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Saturday night, May 25, 2024.
Emily was born on February 20, 1938 in Bachmanville, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Paul A. and Violet (Umberger) Painter. She is preceded in death by her parents.
She married Daniel I. Landis in May of 1959 in Palmyra, Pennsylvania. Daniel preceded her in death on October 7, 2023.
She is survived by two sons: James Landis and Jon Landis, both of Fishers, Indiana.
Emily loved many things throughout her life including music, sewing and quilting, gardening and yard work, hiking, picnics, and jigsaw puzzles. She also loved traveling to various destinations with her husband Daniel including to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East Funeral Center, located at 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229.
A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Washington Park East Cemetery where Emily will be laid to rest with her husband Daniel Landis.
Senior Pastor Chuck Circle of the Franklin Road Baptist Church will officiate.
