Elvin Deloney was born to the late Lawrence Deloney & Lola Moore Deloney on December 23, 1933 in Sardis, Mississippi. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was ordained as a Deacon on March 3, 1974. He served as a Deacon for 20 years at New Revelation Missionary Baptist Church in Gary, Indiana and for 10 years at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana were he also severed on the Usher Board.
Elvin moved to Gary, Indiana in 1952 and was employed at US Steel for 33 years prior to retirement. He married the love of his life Frances Morris Deloney on July 7th 1953. To their union 4 children were born.
Elvin, affectionately known as "Brother" by his siblings was the epidemy of a hard working man. He worked as a cab driver, a delivery truck driver for Peerless Potato Chips and Cream Valley Meats. He maintained several odd carpentry jobs and until the age of 73 worked for Bull Dog Cleaning Services, often working jobs simultaneously to meet the needs and desires of his family.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of nearly 61 years Frances, 5 children, Joyce A. Deloney, James Terry Deloney and D'Ronte Deloney all of Indianapolis, Indiana, Margaret Michelle (Anthony) Skiffer of Peoria, Arizona and Denise Boone- (Brady) Bennett of Clinton Township, Michigan, 8 grandchildren Margaret (Joseph) Carrol, Kimberly (Jason) Price, Jerrica T. Deloney, Brady L. Bennett Jr., Lexus T. Jackson, Dana Deloney, Dimitri Deloney & Marcela Deloney. 5 great grandchildren Olivia & William Carrol, Madison D. Boone, Taylor & Tyler Price, 3 siblings Mary Deloney & Cora M. Cooper both of Mississippi & R.B. (Martha) Deloney of Memphis, Tennessee. 4 in- laws Lou Coleman of Chicago, Illinois, Fulton Morris, Rose Nell Stamps & Debra (Carl) Brown of Batesville, Mississippi as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
