Elsie Rourke

Elsie L. Calhoon Finchum Rourke 90, Of Indianapolis, formerly of Mooresville, Indiana died October 28, 2013. Elsie was born on April 21, 1923 in Luton, Iowa to Chester W. and Ellen Lorntson Calhoon, who preceded her in death. Elsie was a member of the Fleming Garden Christian Church and the Lynhurst Chapter of The Order of the Eastern Star. She loved to travel out west to visit family and was an avid quilter. In addition to her parents, Elsie is preceded in death by her Husband, Ralph W. Finchum, sons Robert L. Finchum, Jack W. Finchum, daughter in law Janice Finchum, brothers Clarence L. Calhoon and Wilber "Sonny" Calhoon, sister in law Lorraine Calhoon, Sister Lucille Hoopengarner, son in law George Day and Grandsons, Robert D. and David A. Finchum, and George "Duke" Day Jr. She is survived by her daughter Lou Ellen M. Day, Grandchildren, Christine (Mike) Grady, Glynda Day, Julie (Bob) May, Jerry and Terry Finchum, Sister in Law Dorothy Remster Calhoon, daughter in law Myrna DeMoss, cousin Eleanor Stagg, as well as several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by second husband, Geoffrey "Doc" Rourke, and survived by stepchildren Russ (Anna) Rourke, Jim (Missy) Rourke, Jacquie (Paul) Bromley, Grandchildren Cody and Justin Rourke, Keifer Pritchett and Brittany Cole, Cassidy, Sidney, and Nick Rourke, Sean Bromley. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, from 4-8pm at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd, Indianapolis, with an Eastern Star Service at 7pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 31st at the funeral center at 11:00 with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow the services in Floral Park Cemetery.
