Elna Grace (Beyler) De Fur, passed away November 6, 2023, in Fishers, Indiana.
She was born April 26, 1936, in Plymouth, Indiana. She was the daughter of Cecil and Wilma Beyler, where she was raised on a gladiola farm in Plymouth, Indiana. She was a 1954 graduate of Plymouth High School. She married Donnon M. De Fur of Muncie, Indiana on June 29, 1957. They were married for 51 years, until Don’s passing in 2009, and lived in Indianapolis, Evansville, Kokomo and Noblesville throughout their married life.
They had two children, Colette (1960) and Kyle (1962). During her lifetime Elna was employed at the Indianapolis Star and News, where she worked in advertising and modeling. She also enjoyed participating in a variety of activities, including, traveling; bridge club; homemakers club; taught Sunday School and directed vacation bible schools; class president of an adult Sunday school class; food pantry volunteer; numerous Bible studies; Haywood Street Small Group; birthday lunch club; choir member; Noblesville Boys and Girls Club, where she received the volunteer of the year award; Presidential Roundtable; ballroom and line dancing.
She was a joyous Christian an active member at Geist Chapel Church. She had a love and appreciation for beautiful things. She was known for her elegant holiday decorating. She would make any gathering special through her gracious hospitality. She demonstrated unconditional love to all those who came across her path.
She is survived by daughter Colette (Rock) Ritter; son Kyle (Dana) De Fur; grandsons, Grant (Kelly) Ritter, Drake (Andrea) Ritter, Cameron (Laura) De Fur, Clayton (JoJo) De Fur; and great grandchildren, Ford, Charlotte, Collins Ritter and Beckett, Bennett and a baby girl (arriving soon) De Fur; close family friend, Tim McElfresh; sisters, Dorothy (Daren) Morgan and Eileen Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don De Fur; brother Ray Beyler; and parents Cecil and Wilma Beyler.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Flanner Buchanan - Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters) in Westfield, Indiana. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service at New Oak Hill Cemetery in Plymouth, Indiana.
