Elmer Burkett Sr.
82, of Indianapolis, died January12, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Elmer was born on April 15,1933 in Allensville, Kentucky. Elmer proudly served his country in the US Armyduring the Korean War. After service, he worked for Chevrolet for many yearsbefore retiring. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed havingbreakfast with his friends at Bob Evans on Rockville Rd. He was also a memberof the VFW Post #1587, Lynhurst Masonic Lodge and Murat Shrine. He was precededin death by his wife Jeanette (Stinnett) Burkett. He is survived by his daughterSharon Strole and her fiancé Brian, son Elmer Burkett Jr. and his partner Sheila,a brother Richard Page, a sister Peggy Page, grandchildren Sean Burkett, SteveHooten and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-6pm at Flanner and Buchanan- Floral Park, withservices Monday at 11:00am in the funeral center. Entombment will follow the servicein West Ridge Park Cemetery.
