Elliott F. Boswell

Oct 22, 2024 — Aug 28, 2026

Indianapolis

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the death of our hero, Elliott Forrest Boswell. Elliott passed peacefully in his sleep on August 28, 2026 surrounded by his family and tightly hugging his best friend Sully the Monster.

Elliott was born on October 22, 2024, to parents Sara Justus and Jeremy Boswell. Their first and only child, Elliott was a strong and brave little guy who faced two open-heart surgeries in his young life before passing peacefully from heart failure, just months before his second birthday.

He was a ray of sunshine with an infectious smile, a huge heart filled with love, and a truly kind and joyful spirit. He adored Ms. Rachel, whose warmth and kindness seemed to speak directly to Elliott’s own sweet spirit.

Elliott was born with music in his soul. He could often be found shaking the house as

he played piano, banging his drums to music videos, dancing to “Soda Pop,” or insisting Poppy sing “Wheels on the Bus” or watch the "She Used to be Mine" video one more time.

And then there were Elliott’s own songs: the “Dada Song,” the “Mama Song,” and the “Nana Song.” All variations on the same little tune, sung with absolute confidence and accompanied by his signature little head wiggle.

Elliott was a bright spark with a huge personality. He was smart as a whip, kind and wonderfully silly. He wanted little more than to laugh or make you laugh. He liked to roar and show his claws

like the Wild Things, spin his spinner toys, swing on the front porch, knock over your blocks, ride his bike, and munch on peanut butter puffs. He would beep your nose, honk like a truck, and howl like a wolf. He didn’t like getting his hands dirty, sleeping, or anyone talking while Ms. Rachel was on.

Elliott changed us all, even though his time on earth was far too short. We will deeply miss our precious little boy whose smile, laughter, music, and enormous personality made every life around him better simply because he was here.

Elliott is survived by his parents, Jeremy Boswell and Sara Justus; his grandparents, Ron (“Poppy”) and Michelle (“Nana”) Melton, Gary ("Grandpa") and Karen ("Grandma"] Justus; his

great-grandparents, Sandy (“Momaw”) and Eddie (“Pop”) Lay; his Auntie Hannah Boswell, Aunt Megan Lee, Uncle Jason Lee, Great Uncle Mark Lay, and aunts, uncles, & cousins, including many he never got the chance to meet; as well as countless others

who loved him deeply.
