Ellen Kay (Bose) Freeman passed away peacefully in her home June 29, 2011 surrounded by her family. Ellen was born December 22, 1955 in Indianapolis to the late Donald and Judy Bose. She married the love of her life Steven Alan Freeman, whom she met while both worked at Haag Drug, on October 29th, 1977 and was blessed four years later by the birth of their son Stevie on February 21st 1979. She was also the devoted step-mother to Wendy (Freeman) Berry.
Ellen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She spent her life constantly surrounded by family, her main priority in life. Every holiday found her cooking amazing meals (for which she was famous), and hosting family get togethers in the home she and Steve lived in throughout their 33 years of marriage. Ellen will be missed dearly by her family. She is survived by Husband Steve Freeman, Daughter Wendy Berry, Son Steve Freeman, son Louie Kissee, Sister Shelia (Bose) Lagle, and brothers Barney Bose and Don Bose. In addition, she is survived by her five grandchildren, Brandon Berry, Taylor Kagiliery, Justice Freeman, Brice Freeman and Ethan Davis and great-grandson, Braxton Berry, who could constantly be found swimming or playing basketball in “Mamaw and Papaws” back yard. Other survivors include father-in-law John “Tex” Freeman, brothers-in-law Jack Freeman and Gary Freeman and sisters-in-law Darlene Laycox and Karen Dempsey. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Dave Williamson and mother-in-law Lois Freeman.
Calling will be held Tuesday, July 5 from 4-9PM at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, with funeral services Wednesday, July 6 at 12pm, followed by burial at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
