Ella Renna Williams

Ella Renna Williams, age 96 of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loving family.

Ella Renna entered this life on August 17, 1930 in New York City, New York to her parents Oscar and Sadie Williams.

Along with that union that had to brothers: Charles and James.

Ella completed her education in the Indianapolis Public Schools.

In her adult life, she worked for the Indiana State House and Indiana Pacers until she retired and attended St. Rita Catholic Church.

Ella was a loving and caring mother to her three daughters: Brena, Beverly and Denise, and her two sons: Robert and Michael.

Ella possessed a great sense of humor, a warm easy-going nature and strong character.  No matter what she faced in life, she was always an inspiration to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She greatly enjoyed her 96 years of life dancing to R. Kelly and enjoying a nightly cocktail.

God lovingly called Ella to her eternal heavenly home on Friday, August 22, 2026.

Ella is preceded in death by her late husband: Samuel L. Williams Jr who passed away in 1991, her two daughters: Brenda Smith and Denise Bunnell, as well as her grandson: Johnny Minter.

Ella leaves behind to cherish her memories, her daughter: Beverly Minter, son: Robert Barnett and Michael (wife Allison) Williams. 

She is survived by a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well many nieces, nephews, other extended family members, relatives and friends. 

Ella will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Floral Park Funeral Center, located at 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222.

The Funeral Service for Ella will follow at 1:00 PM. Rev Darryl Harris will officiate.

Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery where Ella will be laid to rest with her husband Samuel Williams Jr.

Flanner Buchanan - Floral Park Funeral Center has charge of arrangements. 

Pallbearers  for Ella's homegoing celebration of life funeral service will be: 

Briah Thrash, Jalyn Smith, Aaron Love, Kevin Thrash, Keith Strong, Christian Maxwell as well as honorary pallbearers Raushan Keys and Larry Love Jr.
