Elizabeth J. Russell

Elizabeth  Jane Russell, daughter of Claude and Jessie Brinson, went to be with the Lord on August 28,2021 She was born in Indianapolis on April 10,1930. She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School where she meet the love of her life, John (Jack) Russell. They married September 5,1946 They were inseparable from then on. They had two daughters Beverly Ann and Charlotte Sue.   She was a secretary before becoming a mother. She taught preschool for several years and worked part time at LS Ayres before going to work at Indiana Bell. She loved music and sang in the Mother’s chorus and played the piano. She was active in the Eastern Star. She loved traveling and took many exciting trips Including trips to Alaska and Hawaii She also spent many winters in Leesburg Florida.

She was a faithful wife for nearly 74 years, a loving mother and grandmother. She leaves behind, daughters Beverly (Mike) Apple and Charlotte (Randy) Barnett; grandchildren Julie  Brengard, Jenni (Chip) Ferris, Bryan (Chelsea Glass) Hall, Chris (Myra Lolkema) Hall, Erik (Jessica) Barnett, Sarah Barnett, Rebekah (Sean) Eaton and Abby (Nathan) Pagrysinski; great grandchildren Daniel Brengard, Amanda Brengard, Zach (Sabrina) Ferris, Libby Ferris, Jackson Hall, Lincoln Hall, Emerson Hall, Felix Ballard, Veronica Barnett, Arti Barnett, and Rowan Lolkema :great great grandchildren Sam Brengard and Penelope Lopez. She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, and grandson James Barnett. She will be greatly miss by all.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, 46229, from 11:00 -12:00 pm with Celebration of Life Service immediately following. Memorials may be made to JDRF.
