Elizabeth Evans

Lady Elizabeth M. (Baker) Evans 93, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 21, 2015. She was a retired nurse having worked at Methodist Hospital and Roudebush VA Medical Center. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Black Nurses Association and the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of St. Peter Claver. She was preceded in death by her husband, Command Sergeant Major James E. Evans Jr. and sons, James P. and Richard T. Evans. She is survived by her children, Pinkie I. Evans, George (Clarissa) Evans, Nina (Ronald) Burris and Denise (Michael) Ware; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple. Services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 10 a.m. in St. Rita Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
