Elizabeth Belle (Betty) Robinson, age 101, of Boca Raton, Florida, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully at Trustbridge Hospice Care Center of Boca Raton on Monday, December 30, 2024.
Betty was born on July 29, 1923, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Ira W. Orcutt and Bertie Noel Orcutt. She was the 4th of six children, all of whom preceded her in death: Ira, Ernest, Mildred, James, and Robert, as well as three older half-brothers from her mother’s first marriage.
Betty is survived by her devoted son, Steven M. Scott, MD, and his wife Rebecca (Becky) Scott; her cherished grandchildren: Rob Scott, MD, Marc Scott, Daniel Scott, MD, Greg Scott, and Elizabeth Scott, MD; and seven beloved great-grandsons.
Betty spent most of her life in Indianapolis, where she worked as a private secretary and later as a beautician, while raising her son as a single mother. She was twice married to Maurice M. Scott, and although their marriage ended in divorce, they shared the blessing of their son, Steve. Later, Betty found happiness in her 25-year marriage to Thaddeus Plummer until his passing in 1991. In 1993, she married Orville (Chuck) Robinson, and the couple enjoyed 22 wonderful years together until Chuck’s death in 2016. They relocated to Boca Raton in 2004 to be closer to Steve and his family. Betty and Chuck moved into St. Andrew’s Estates North in Boca Raton in 2013, for the security and comfort that a retirement community provides.
Betty's strong Christian faith and resilient spirit guided her through life’s challenges. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards, trivia, and spending time with her beloved dog. In Boca Raton, she and Chuck attended Spanish River Church, where she found fellowship and strength through her women’s Bible study group. A proud member of Eastern Star since 1949 and Chi Kappa Chi in Indianapolis, Betty was known for her warm personality, quick wit, and ability to make friends wherever she went.
Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of faith, strength, and kindness will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
A private interment will take place at Washington Park East in Indianapolis, Indiana.
A Celebration of Life service for Betty will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Auditorium of St. Andrew’s Estates North: 6152 Verde Trail North, Boca Raton, Florida 33433.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty’s memory to Spanish River Church, Trustbridge Hospice Foundation, ACTS Legacy Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
