Elizabeth Ann Steeno

December 14, 1949 — May 31, 2018

McCordsville, Indiana

Elizabeth “Beth” Ann (Hollon) Steeno, age 68, residing in Hancock County, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.

Beth was born on December 14, 1949, in Brownsville, Texas to Frank Nelson Hollon and Elizabeth Muse (Heaner) Hollon. She was a graduate of Austin High in Decatur, Alabama and attended Athens State University. She resided in Texas until the family moved to Illinois as a teenager, finally landing in Alabama where she met Kerry Lawrence Steeno. She was united in marriage to Kerry on April 4, 1970. She gave birth to Brandon Michael Steeno while in Alabama before moving to Indianapolis and being blessed with two more children, Christopher Ryan Steeno and Sarah Elizabeth Steeno. She resided in Indiana for 30 years raising her children and putting her stamp on the community. She became a member of the First Baptist Church in Cumberland and worked in the preschool. Beth became certified as a stenographer and worked as a court reporter at the Hancock County Courthouse for 10 years. Beth liked to volunteer her time to the Republican Party, supporting conservatism and for positive family values. Beth and Kerry moved to Florida for 12 years where she helped start a non-profit called Hearts of Miromar which raised money for a variety of charities. She loved being part of a woman’s group in Miromar where she developed great friendships and a “girls club”. She moved back to Indiana in order to be closer to her young grandkids, who she adored. Beth loved being a Grandmother and even earned the name “Dubby Mama”.  She loved cooking with the grandkids, especially making “Dubby Mama’s Delicious Sugar Cookies”.

Beth very much had a blast through life and was the loudest laugh in the room. If there wasn’t a fun event to go to, she would create her own. Beth had a very sophisticated design eye. She created living spaces and events that were beautifully decorated. She was a very creative person that loved to paint and decorate. Beth had a soft spot for rescuing yorkie dogs. She loved and cared for yorkies almost 30 years.

Beth is survived by her husband, Kerry Lawrence Steeno (McCordsville); son, Brandon Michael Steeno (Greenfield); son, Christopher Ryan Steeno (Mt. Comfort); daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Steeno (Greenfield); mother, Elizabeth Muse (Hollon) Reed; brother, Frank Hollon (Alabama); sister, Jane (Hollon) Lee (Florida); mother-in-law Jean Steeno (Green Bay, WI); daughter-in-law, Krista Lee Steeno (Brandon); daughter-in-law, Angela Marie Steeno (Christopher) and daughter-in-law, Lesley Michelle Hubert (Sarah).
