Elise was born in Staunton, Virginia, on April 22nd, 1931 to Henry and Virginia Scott. She attended Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia and performed her nurse’s training at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina in 1951. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Sorority. While at Shepherd University, she met her loving husband of 57 years. They were married on September 8th, 1952. She was a proud and devoted wife, mother, grandmother; and the “best” homemaker of all time! While raising her family, she especially enjoyed working as a sales associate for H. P. Wasson and Company until diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1978. In spite of this debilitating illness, she will always be remembered for her pleasantness and kindness towards others. Elise will also be remembered for her passionate love of butterflies; because they are “beautiful and free” as she would often say. Her loving memory will be cherished forever. Additional viewing will be from 12noon to 1pm on Monday, March 7th, prior to the funeral and burial services beginning at 1 p.m. Monday, March 7th.
