Eleanor M. Arntz Stanton

Eleanor M. Arntz Stanton, 96, formerly of Carmel, IN passed away on October 25, 2016. She was once a one-room schoolhouse teacher, a Secretary to the Chaplain during WWII and most importantly, a wife and homemaker. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, as well as a Girl Scout Leader. Ellie was an avid bridge player who enjoyed her retirement years at Schalamar Creek in Lakeland, FL. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne A. Stanton. She is survived by her children, Debbie Stanton Rae and Gregory Wayne Stanton; granddaughter, Maggie (Stephen) Rae Rasmussen; and great-granddaughter, Lily Ellen Rasmussen.Funeral arrangements entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
