Eileen M. Black 88, of Indianapolis, passed away, Sunday November 18, 2012. Eileen was born May 31, 1924, in Dexter, MO, a daughter of Charles and Laura Mingear.
Eileen was a line supervisor at Western Electric, retiring in 1979 after 23 years of service. She was a kind hearted, fun loving person who loved children and enjoyed helping others. She loved to play the organ and also taught organ lessons for many years. She was an avid race fan, she and her husband spent many years working for CART at the Indianapolis 500.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one sister, Iona L. Malone of Arizona and 20 nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and great nephews.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Woodrow "Blackie" Black; her parents; brothers, Charles "Chuck" Mingear, Calvin Mingear, Carl Mingear, Curtis Mingear, Jack Mingear and Clyde Mingear; sisters, Lois Genzel and Leona Hancock; one nephew and one niece.
Friends may call from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Interment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
