Effie L. Sauer

Effie Lorene "Babe" Sauer, 92, of Speedway, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015. She was born on November 21, 1922 in Red Bud, IL to Henry and Effie (Davis) Rosenberg. Effie was a Charter Member of Messiah Lutheran Church at Eagle Creek and an avid sports fan. She enjoyed supporting the Cincinnati Reds, IU Basketball, Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers. Effie is survived by her daughters, Carol (Jim) Burton, Lois (Jimmy) Daniels and Debbie Hunter; grandchildren, Kimberly, Kellye, Ashley, Mark, Mitch, Morgan; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Robin, Bennie, Clayton and Chloe. Effie is also survived by her brother, Marvin Rosenberg. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville William "Bob" Sauer; and sister, Marvelle Koch. Visitation for Mrs. Sauer will be held on Friday, June 12, 2015 from 4-8pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway. Funeral services will take place Saturday at 2pm, also at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church at Eagle Creek or the Indianapolis Humane Society.
