Effie Irene Hamilton

Effie Irene Martin Hamilton, 86 of Lafayette, IN, passed away December 27, 2012 after a brief illness. She was born February 2, 1926 in Hendricks County, IN to James C. and Margaret Darnall Martin. She graduated from Cloverdale High School, class of 1944 and attended Indiana Business College. She married Jack Norman Hamilton on August 23, 1952 in Indianapolis. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack N. Hamilton, infant son Timothy Allen Hamilton, brothers, James, Irvin, Ralph, Louis and sister, Lois Juanita. Surviving to cherish her memory are her brother, Arthur (Yolande) Martin, her children, Bonnie (Kevin) McDougle, Jack J. Hamilton, Pamela Rice, Sally (Randall) Johnson, foster-daughter, Barbara Ellington, six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Friends may visit with the family from 11-1, Monday, December 31, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN. The funeral will be held at 1 PM at the Funeral Center. Entombment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
