Edwin Luther Rice, Jr.

Edwin L. Rice Jr., 90, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away January 7, 2021. He was welcomed with fireworks on July 4, 1930, born to the late Edwin and Hattie Rice.

After high school, Edwin went on to enlist in the US Army where he created a successful 20-year career serving our country. During this time, he met his beloved wife, Margot Sobo Rice, on his birthday and they wed on September 21, 1949 in Kitzingen, Germany. Has always said she was the best birthday gift he every gotten. He also retried as a civil servant of 15 years from Ft. Harrison where he held several positions, He was a Life member & served as Post Commander of Ft. Harrison Veterans of Foreign Wars # 7119.  And was a 32-degree Mason with lodge #564.

He is survived by the love of his life for 71 years Margot, his Sons, Roland, Michael & Ed, His Daughters Diana Vogel, Barbara Louder,12 Grandchildren, 10 Great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his Parents; a sister & 2 brothers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 11AM-1PM with funeral services to begin at 1PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, 46229.  Interment to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.  Services will be livestreamed at 1PM, Wednesday, January 13, 2021.  https://youtu.be/vRVhTyVWIXY
