Edward L. Troutman

Edward L. Troutman, 81, of Noblesville died peacefully at his home on December 28, 2024. He was born on July 25,1943 in Kittanning, PA to Harold and Edith (Moore) Troutman. 

He married his lifelong love, Linda Anderson on August 20, 1964. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. 

Ed initially worked as a butcher in the family grocery store, Troutman’s Market, in Spring Church, PA. In 1969, he started his career in the insurance business spending nearly 40 years with Foremost/Farmers Insurance. Growing up outside Pittsburgh, PA, Ed was a diehard Steelers and Penn State fan. 

In 1995, Ed & Linda traveled with friends to Beaver Island, MI. He immediately fell in love with the island community and bought a property the following year. Initially the home was a family vacation home but in his retirement Ed & Linda made Beaver Island their main home. He loved the Island and the people. He enjoyed gardening and mentoring youth on the island. He was active with the Beaver Island Community Center and other organizations on the Island. 

His favorite roles in life were being a devoted husband, father, and Papa Ed to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Linda. His sister, Dawna (Dean) Byrom. His children Scott (Keari) Troutman, Tammi (Rob) Newcomer and Kevin (Alexis Harlan) Troutman. Granddaughters Jessica, Hannah, Maggie (Tyler), and Lillee (Nathan). Grandsons Brian (Julianne), David (Ashley), Matthew (Haley) and Michael. Cherished Great Grandchildren Lincoln, Parker and Nora. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bernard.
