Edward Wayne Parker

Edward Wayne Parker, age 81 of Indianapolis passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

Edward was born on June 18, 1944 in Indianapolis, the third child of Clyde D. and Luella Mary (Barnhart) Parker. He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as one sister: Donna Parker. Ed is survived by his sister: Jacquelyn Underwood of Indianapolis.

Edward is also survived by one daughter: Luanna (husband Chris) Fossmeyer of Brownsburg.

Edward was married to Judy Ellen Parker. Judy preceded him in death in November of 2020.

Ed is survived by Judy’s children: Don (wife Sharon) Raley of Beech Grove, and William Christopher (wife Leslie) Raley of Maine.

Grandchildren: Keegan (wife Josi) Fossmeyer of Burlington, Washington State, Claire (husband Lal) Chawngthu of Raleigh, North Carolina, Kenzie Fossmeyer of Brownsburg.

Other step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, family members and relatives also survive.

Ed grew up in Indianapolis on the Westside. He attended Decatur High School, graduating in the class of 1963.

Throughout Ed’s professional career he worked as a printer at the Indy Star Newspaper. He worked in the printing business all of his career.

In his free time he enjoyed bowling and was on a bowling league. His best game was a 299 out of 300. Ed’s daughter Luanna still has the 1 bowling pin that didn’t fall.

He was an avid fisher, hunter, and amateur carpenter. He also was a dog lover and even more so, dogs LOVED him.

He played on the Indianapolis Star News evening baseball team for many years.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, located at 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46221

Ed’s funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM

Procession to Ed’s final place of rest at Holy Cross/St. Joseph Cemetery will follow where Ed will be laid to rest with his parents and sister Donna.

Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township has charge of arrangements.
