Edward A. Oliverio

Edward Arthur Oliverio, 65, born and raised in Indianapolis, IN passed away on June 15, 2026.

Eddie was born October 4, 1960 in Indianapolis, the son of the Great Ferdinand Arthur and Dona Mae Oliverio. He graduated from Pike High School in 1979 where he held many records in baseball, some of which still stand today. He took his talents to Valencia Junior College in Florida to continue his dream of playing in the big leagues. An injury occurred while playing which brought him back to his home state of Indiana where he finished his schooling and earned a bachelors in business at Indiana University.

In 1992, he not only got married to Amanda Sue Oliverio, who had a beautiful daughter Ashley Autumn Oliverio, they brought their first son into the world Nicholas Arthur Oliverio. Over the next 7 years they brought two more children into the journey, Austin James and Messina Mae Oliverio. His family was everything to him. Just like his father, he made sure to always be there for his children whether it was through coaching them in a variety of sports, reading them bedtime stories to cracking jokes even at the most daunting of times. Through these actions along with numerous others, he always made sure they knew they were loved. As the years went on, he became much more than a coach or a father but their best friends. His witty jokes and sense of humor brought laughter that could be heard across lakes, through valleys and over mountains.

Upon graduating, he received a managerial job in Kentucky. He made the decision to step down from this position, to step up once again for his family and move home to take care of his mother and help his father run a gas station once monumental to the community. Throughout his life he held many different positions and jobs from working long hours at Speedway to doing what his children knew he loved--driving. Boy did he love the track, especially the Indianapolis 500. He ended his career working alongside his eldest son at Caliber Collision.

Over the last several years of his life, he finally made the decision to pick back up, what became the family's "go to" activity, of golf. Playing golf reignited his competitive spirit where he was able to enjoy with, not only his family, but also with friends. If you asked him, his favorite part was getting into his friends' heads and watch as the little pokes of fun slowly deteriorated their game for the day giving him the opportunity to win a few holes here and there.

Eddie was truly surrounded by his loving children daily. Nothing made him prouder than seeing who his children had become. Besides the fact that they are closer than, as he would say, "a homeless man and a bologna sandwich." This was his greatest accomplishment in his eyes, and his only goal was achieved.

Eddie's survivors include his 4 children, Ashley, Nico, Austin and the apple of his eye, Messina. He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Amanda, and his sister Kathy.

Visitation will be from 4 pm until 8 pm, Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan - Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Road, Westfield, IN 46062. Additional visitation will be held from 10 am until 11 am, on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan - Hamilton Memorial Park, with a funeral service immediately following at 11 am. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery.
