Edward Ligus

Edward G. Ligus of Carmel, IN, passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 89. He was born in Roselle Park, N.J., on March 29, 1937, to parents, George and Julie (Kuchma) Ligus.

Edward was very eager to learn, he self-taught himself the basics of computer programming. Edward was a Lieutenant at R.P. Fire Department for 16 years. He was also a member of the Civil Defense for 2 years. He was honorable discharged from the Army after serving two years. In addition to his career and giving back to his community Edward enjoyed many things, like gardening. Edward could also be found often on his boat fishing in his spare time. He was also a woodworker, making furniture pieces for his family and friends throughout the years.

Edward married Merrily Kresge on February 27, 1960, together they spent 66 loving years together, she survives. He is survived by daughter, Juliana Dillehay; grandchildren, Justin Dillehay, Brandon Dillehay, and Richard Gugluizzi; brother, William Ligus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, April Ligus; son, Edward Ligus Jr.; brother, Richard Ligus.

A private family service and viewing will be held.
